NEMA Sokoto Participates in Flood Simulation Exercise

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Sokoto Operations Office, has participated in a flood simulation exercise organized in Sokoto State by the Red Cross, in collaboration with the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA).

The exercise, which held at Kofar-Kware, brought together key stakeholders in disaster management to strengthen preparedness, coordination, and response mechanisms in the event of flood emergencies.
Participating agencies included the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), International Organization for Migration (IOM), Federal and State Fire Services, and representatives of community-based groups and traditional leaders.

The simulation provided an opportunity for agencies to test their emergency response systems, communication channels, and joint operational capacity during disaster situations.

Speaking after the exercise, NEMA reaffirmed its commitment to working with relevant partners and communities in building resilience, enhancing coordination, and improving the overall disaster response capacity across Sokoto State and the North-West region.
