2023 General Elections: NEMA NWZ staged a Sensization Campaign Rally on Election Violence.
NEMA NWZ held a Sensization Campaign Rally yesterday to educate the general public to shun violence during and after the 2023 general elections.
The Zonal Coordinator, Alhaji Abbani Imam Garki led staff of the agency with support from other relevant stakeholders to the sensitisation rally with a 5km-walk through Kaduna Metropolis, the Central Market, various Motor Parks.
The campaign rally is to enlighten citizens to understand their roles towards ensuring that the forthcoming 2023 general election is violence-free.
The Zonal Coordinator urged citizens to play a vital role by abstaining from all forms of negative practices either before, during or after the exercise in order to avoid violence for the integrity and safety of the future generations.
He called on electorates to exercise their rights and responsibilities peacefully while refraining from any form of violence or intimidation during the election period, to accept the outcome of the elections in good faith for the the peace and unity of the nation.
However, the Controller General, Safety Awareness and Environmental Support Initiative (SAESI), Muhammad Yahaya commended NEMA for organizing the sensitisation, saying it was timely as the elections has influence over all economic, social and political parameters.
He further challenged stakeholders and organisations in the state to emulate NEMA in sensitising citizens on the need for peaceful general elections.
