On December 20, 2024, the NEMA South West Zonal Office received a distress alert regarding a fire incident at Ashi Bodija along Ojo Expressway, Ibadan. The Zonal Coordinator, Mr. Olanrewaju Kadiri, promptly mobilized response stakeholders to the scene.
The Oyo State Fire Service, with support from other stakeholders, successfully controlled the fire, preventing it from spreading to nearby buildings.
The fire was suspected to have been caused by a leakage in one of the compartments of a gas tanker belonging to Nordock Energy.
