NEMA Uyo operations office actively participated today in a program tagged “ONE MILLION- MAN WALK” The event was convened by African Women in Leadership Organization (AWLO) Nigeria led by Dr. Elisha Attai. It was organized to sensitize the public on Violence Against Women and is to kick start the World Women’s Day slated for Friday 8th March, 2024. The walk started at Ibom Hall and terminated at the Governor’s Office. The staff of NEMA Uyo Operations Office led by Aisueni Mmandu (Ag.HOO) joined hands with other numerous organizations and stakeholders to advocate for the eradication of Gender-Based Violence.
In attendance was the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social welfare, Akwa Ibom State, Dr. Ini Adiakpan, the Red Cross as well as other relevant stakeholders.
