NEMA, MOO HOLDS STAKEHOLDERS MEETING PREPARATORY TO THE COMMENCEMENT OF 2022 OPERATION EAGLE EYE

The Minna Operations Office of NEMA today held a Stakeholders Meeting to set the stage for “Operation Eagle-eye” flag off. Stakeholders in attendance included representatives of different road transport Unions like NURTW, RTEAN & NATO. Other stakeholders present included FRSC, VIO, NDLEA, Nigeria Red cross Society, Nigeria Police Force, Federal Fire Service, NSEMA.

Head of Operations, MOO, Haj. Zainab S. Sa’idu while delivering her speech called on all hands to be on deck to completely stop the high level of accidents on the roads or reduce them to the barest minimum. She identified the goals of the operation to be first, Prevention, second Mitigation and third Provision of a response mechanism during the Yuletide. Head of Operation noted that staff of NEMA, MOO will patrol on all the routes linking Minna to other states and also standby armed with the agency’s ambulance to respond to any emergency.

Lectures were delivered on Proper Vehicles check and maintenance by VIO, Dangers of Drug abuse for drivers by NDLEA and Defensive driving in Yuletide by FRSC. The lectures served as refreshers to the representatives of the unions present and put them in tune for the season. They are expected to pass the information to their members. Participants took turns to asked questions and make comments during the Questions and Answers session.
