The newly posted Zonal Director of the North Central Directorate of NEMA -Bashir Idris Garga payed a working/Familiarization visit to NEMA MOO on 5th February 2024. He briefed staff on the New NEMA Organizational Structure and the rationale behind the establishment of six Directorates in the six Geopolitical Zones of the country. He further explained that the unbundling of NEMA was geared towards towards timely, efficient and effective operations.
The Head MOO & other members of staff highlighted operational challenges and issues related to emergency management in Niger/ Kwara states and rubbed minds with the Director ways forward.
The Director also inspected office equipments and assessed the Agency’s warehouse.
Afterwards, the Zonal Director led a Team on a Courtesy call to the Executive Governor of Niger state, Alh Umar Muhammad Bago.
The Governor expressed his appreciation for NEMA’s swift responses to disasters nationwide under the leadership of DG Mustapha Habib Ahmed.
