NEMA participates two-weeks “Basic Course on Assistance and Protection Against Chemical Weapons” in Geneva, Switzerland.

NEMA is participating at a two-weeks “Basic Course on Assistance and Protection against Chemical Weapons” in Geneva, Switzerland.

The Programme is organized by the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) in collaboration with the Switzerland Government.

NEMA North West Zone Head of DRR Unit, Ikramat Umar is representing the agency at the train the trainer course expected to run for duration of two weeks in Switzerland.

Participants will get to know the Introduction of Switzerland PPEs and how to use them during Chemical attack or accident, Detection and Decontamination of Chemical Agents during Warfare or accident, Sampling and Evacuation of chemical agents, during Warfare or accident.

NEMA is Nigeria representative at the event which also hosted participants from other OPCW member countries like Argentina, Colombia, Brazil, Morocco, Jordan, Philippines, Italy, Germany, Turkey, Suriname, Thailand, Paraguay, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Kenya, Ukraine, France, Turkmenistan and Sierra Leone.
