NEMA South South Zone (ERT)team led by the AZC, Chidiebere Ogundu,attended a stakeholders coordination meeting organized by Nigerian Navy (NNS Pathfinder).
The Commander, Cmdr DOC Igbo, during his speech, informed the stakeholders that the program is aimed at streamlining the Conducts of Search and Rescue operations during boat mishap.- To improve inter Agency collaboration, synergy and search and rescue activities in the State. – To avoid duplication of roles and responsibilities and to ascertain the strength of relevant critical, stakeholders during SAR Operations.
A tentative date – (16th of February, 2024) has been selected to conduct a simulation exercise at the Naval Ship yard. This is to encourage the populace of their readiness to carry out swift response in case of boat accidents..
This collaboration has further stepped up the synergy to mitigate against further and future disàster for response in the state especially to confront the recent boat mishap incidences and fire out breaks experienced this dry season ..
