National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Kano Territorial Office, led by Dr. Nura Abdullahi, in collaboration with Hon. Sagiru Koki, Member House of Representatives for Kano Municipal Federal Constituency, officially flagged off the distribution of relief materials to victims of the recent flood incidents. The intervention targeted 13 affected communities within the Kano Municipal Federal Constituency.
In his address, Dr. Nura Abdullahi expressed deep sympathy for the victims of the disaster, emphasizing that the relief materials were not a form of compensation but a measure to alleviate their suffering and help them recover from the devastation
The event was attended by notable stakeholders, including members of the Kano Municipal Legislative Council, officials from the Kano State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), security personnel, and other dignitaries
A total of 198 households benefited from the intervention, receiving a variety of essential relief items, including food supplies and building materials. The distributed items included:

381 bags of rice (25kg each)
381 bags of maize (25kg each)
381 cartons of spaghetti (500g x 20)
38 cartons of vegetable oil (5 litres x 4)
30 cartons of seasoning cubes
35 cartons of 3-in-1 beverages
*2. Building materials:*
150 bags of cement (50kg each)
150 bundles of roofing sheets
300 pieces of ceiling boards
50 packets of zinc nails
25 bags of 3″ nails (25kg each)
This intervention underscores the commitment of NEMA, in partnership with other stakeholders, to provide timely support to disaster-affected communities and to foster resilience in the face of emergencies.
