As part of the Federal Government Special Intervention for 2024, NEMA North West zone NWZ has distributed relief support to people affected by flood disaster across 11 Communities in Kaura Local Government Area, Kaduna state.
The Zonal Coordinator, Abbani Imam Garki led other staff of the agency and KADSEMA officials for the direct distribution exercise held at Kaura Local Government Area, Kaduna.
Present during the event were the Honorable Member Representing Kaura Federal Constituency, Hon. Donatus K. Matthew, Traditional and Community leaders and other government authorities.
The flood affected persons from the communities of Mifi, Fadan Attakar, Zankan, Manchok, Kpak, Daji Fada, Bondong, Tachira Kaura, Tachira Kadarko and Malagun Tun districts benefited from the FG relief support.
The relief items were distributed with the aim to ameliorate the affected persons consists of food, non food, clothing and building materials.
Some of the items distributed are bags of rice, maize, cartons of vegetable oil, seasoning cube, spaghetti, tomato paste, beverages, towels, children, women and men wears. Others are bags of cement, bundles of roofing sheets, and nails.
The honorable member commended NEMA’s timely response to assist the victims, he also advice & urged the beneficiaries not to sell what was given to them, but instead share with those who are more in need
On his part, the Zonal Coordinator delivered the Director General NEMA, Mrs. Zubaida Umar kind regards and also commiserated with the affected persons, saying the relief succour is just an assistance to ease their plight as it can’t replace their huge losses.
His Royal Highness, Agwan Takkad in his vote of thanks on behalf of the beneficiaries appreciated the federal government support through NEMA, and the honorable member who facilitated the intervention .
