NEMA DISTRIBUTES RELIEF MATERIALS TO FLOOD-AFFECTED COMMUNITIES IN DEMSA, LAMURDE, AND NUMAN LGAs OF ADAMAWA STATE

As part of the Federal Government’s response to the 2024 flood disaster, the Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mrs. Zubaida Umar, represented by the Head of NEMA Yola Operations Office, Mr. Ladan Ayuba, officially flagged off the distribution of relief items to victims in Demsa, Lamurde, and Numan Local Government Areas of Adamawa State.

In his remarks, Mr. Ayuba conveyed heartfelt sympathy on behalf of the Director General of NEMA to the victims and urged the beneficiaries to make proper use of the relief items. He emphasized that the support is intended to alleviate the impact of the flood disaster on their livelihoods.

The distribution event was attended by various state government officials, including representatives from the Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency (ADSEMA), Chairmen of Numan and Lamurde LGAs, the Adamawa State Commissioner of Information, and a representative of the Honourable Member for Demsa, Numan, and Lamurde Federal Constituency.

The relief materials were facilitated by Hon. Kwamoti Bitrus Laori, the Member representing Demsa/Numan/Lamurde Federal Constituency, as part of his efforts to support the flood-affected residents of his constituency.

The exercise was conducted successfully in the presence of key stakeholders, including officials from the Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Police Force (NPF), LGA officials, community leaders, and members of the media.
