The National Emergency Management Agency has delivered relief support to Taraba State Government for onward distribution to persons that were affected by flood in state.
Presenting the items, Director General of NEMA Muhammad Sani Sidi said the gesture was aimed at complementing the initial intervention by state government to cushion the effect of the flood on the victims.
The DG NEMA who was represented by the Head of NEMA’s Gombe Operations Office Alhaji Saidu Ahmed Minin commiserated with the flood victims but added that it was necessary for communities living along flood plains to relocate to safer locations and early warning on disaster taken seriously at all times.
The items were received by the Secretary to the Taraba State Government Mr Anthony Jellason on behalf of the Governor, Darius Dickson Ishaku who assured that they would be distributed accordingly.The SSg was accompnied by the Permanent Secretary General Services who is in-charge of the State Emergency Management Agency.
