On May 15th, 2024, the Director General National Emergency Management Agency NEMA Mrs Zubaida umar delivered 1,199.1MT of food commodities to Kebbi State for distribution to vulnerable persons. This delivery was part of a nationwide effort initiated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to mitigate the impacts of the global economic situation. The food items, including maize, sorghum, and millet, were handed over to Governor Nasir Idris, who expressed gratitude for the timely assistance. Additionally, NEMA alerted the state government about the seasonal flood prediction, urging proactive measures to mitigate potential risks in flood-prone areas. Governor Nasir Idris assured collaboration with NEMA to address both food insecurity and flood preparedness in the state.
