NEMA, Sokoto Operations Office in a joint assessment exercise with Sokoto State Emergency Management Agency conducted the assessment of the situation of IDPs displaced across 3 Local Government Areas of Sokoto State.
The LGAs affected are Rabah, Wurno, and Goronyo LGAs. The victims were attacked by unknown gun men leading to the death of some persons while others sustained different magnitude of injuries. The bandits went further to burn houses, silos, and shops as well as vehicles also were burnt down. Over one thausand animals were rustled by the armed Bandits.
IDPs are taking refuge in close communities like Mai Kujera, Gidan-buwai, Kagara ward, Zangon-jima, Marnoma and Achifa that are still accessible.
