NEMA’s Operations Office in Sokoto recently conducted an evaluation of the situation concerning the victims of armed banditry in Tangaza Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
According to eyewitnesses among the victims, the attack occurred on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, and affected several communities within the LGA. The impacted communities encompass Sakkwai, Tukandu, Yola, Alkasim, Diboni, Ruwa-wuri, Bagida, and Manja villages.
The affected residents were compelled to abandon their homes and seek refuge in Masallacin Gwangwano. Tragically, many lost their lives during the attack, while others sustained varying degrees of injuries. Due to the ongoing threat of recurrent bandit attacks, these affected villages remain inaccessible.
