A team of Staff members of NEMA, MOO led by Head of Search and Rescue Unit, Hussaini Isah conducted an on-the-spot assessment of the flood incident that submerged several communities in Lavun Local Government Area of Niger State. The Disaster affected several communities that include Doko, Egagi, Saaci-nku, Mambe, Nku, Kosso, Kuchita, Fokpo Kutigi-side, Ndako-gitsu, Tsoegi, Tsonfada-gabi.
The flood which occured as a result of the heavy rainfall of Monday 26th September, 2022 affected over 3,000 persons and one death recorded. The people who are currently displaced are taking refuge with friends and relatives in other neighbouring villages.
