The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has provided relief materials to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) at the Ewu Camp in Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State. These individuals, originally from Okuama town, were displaced following an attack by unknown gunmen who set fire to homes and other critical infrastructure.

The relief distribution targeted pre-registered households in the camp, supplying a range of essential food and non-food items to alleviate their hardships.

During the distribution, NEMA staff conveyed condolences from Director General Mrs. Zubaida Umar, acknowledging the tragic circumstances leading to the displacement.

This effort was conducted in partnership with Delta State’s Ministry for the Bureau for Special Duties. Among those in attendance were Karo Ovemeso, Director of the Delta State Emergency Management Agency, Austin Emadaku, Secretary of the IDPs Management Committee, and Ohuafaria Austin, the IDPs Camp Commandant.
