The Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mrs. Zubaida Umar, today presented commendation letters from the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) to staff members that participated actively in the successful distribution of 42,000 metric tons of assorted food commodities across Nigeria.
Recall that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had approved release of the food items from the National Strategic Reserve to provide essential food supplies to vulnerable populations in all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The distribution was part of the Federal Government’s efforts to enhance food security. In line with the approval, NEMA collaborated with other stakeholders in delivery of the food items and handover of the food items to State Governments for distribution at the local government level.
The DG NEMA commended the staff for their dedication and hard work, noting that their contributions were instrumental in the success of the project, which has had a significant impact on food security across the country.
The commendation letters, addressed to each staff member, acknowledged their crucial role in the success of the initiative.
