Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mrs. Zubaida Umar, yesterday met with the management team of the Nigerian Red Cross Society (NRCS) who were on a courtesy visit to the Agency’s headquarters in Abuja.
The delegation, led by NRCS Secretary General Alhaji Abubakar Kende, also included Mr. Bhupender Tomar, the Head of the Abuja Cluster Delegation of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).
Alhaji Kende explained that the purpose of the visit was to further strengthen the existing partnership between NEMA and NRCS. On his part, Mr. Tomar praised the collaborative relationship between the two organizations and suggested that this partnership could be further enhanced to improve humanitarian services in the country.
In her response, Mrs. Zubaida Umar expressed gratitude to the NRCS and IFRC for their visit and reaffirmed NEMA’s commitment to fostering partnerships with key stakeholders in disaster management to enhance the effectiveness of response efforts across Nigeria.
