NEMA DELIVERS RELIEF MATERIAL TO FARMERS HERDERS CLASHES VICTIMS IN NASARAWA

The National Emergency management Agency (NEMA) North Central Zonal office Jos yesterday 19th July 2023 commenced the distribution of relief materials to the victims of Farmers Herders clashes in Kokona Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

Delivering the items, the Director General of the Agency Alh. Mustapha Habib said the items were meant to cushion the effects of Disaster on the victims.

The Director General who was represented by the Noth Central Zonal Coordinator Mr. Eugene Nyelong commiserate with the people over the urgly incidence and urged them to embrace peace and live with another in harmony.

Receiving the items on behalf of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) the Executive Governor of the State Engr. Abdullahi Sule appreciated the Agency and noted that relief items Wil go a Long way in alleviating the suffering of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) The Governor who was represented by the Deputy Governor Dr. Emmanuel Akabe equally sympathized with the people of Tatara mada and Kama Yanda over those who died during the criss and noted the almighty God created us equally and nobody has the right to take life of another. He urged the people to embrace peace and leave together in harmony.

The Hon. Member representing Kokona, Keffi and Karu Federal constituency at the National Assembly, Honourable Gaza Jonathan in his remarks urged the people not to be discourage as result of the incidence but to be strong in going out with their normal activities. He assured the people that as a member representating them at the National Assembly, he was going to do his best to insure that lasting peace is return to Tatara mada and Kama Yanda. He equally appreciated NEMA for the relief materials.

Earlier on his remarks, the Executive chairman of Kokona Local Government Area Hon. Awwalu Adamu revealed that the crisis claimed some lives and properties worth millions of naira were destroyed He also thanked the Agency for the relief assistane and assured it of its continue support and collaboration.

One of the community leader Pro. Silas gyar also appreciated NEMA for the items and urged the Local Government chairman to do his best in providing security so that the communities can have a lasting peace.

The relief materials which is woth millions of naira included food and non-food items

The Flagg off of the distribution exercise took place at Tatara mada in Kokona Local Government Area of the state.

Present at Flag-off included: the Security agencies -Police, Army Civil Defense, SSS. Other includes State Emergency management Agency, the red cross, representatives of the two communities among others
