BUILDING COLLAPSE AT MUSHIN, LAGOS STATE

NEMA Lagos Territorial Office LTO responded to a distress call of a collapsed building at no 12, Cameroun street, Mushin, Lagos State today, 3 July, 2024.

On arrival and after making enquiries, it was discovered that the affected building was a newly completed two storey building which suddenly collapsed this morning. The incident occurred during the heavy rainfall that the State experienced today. Seven persons were trapped and rescued alive; three female and 4 male, two people had minor injuries while five sustained serious injuries and were taken to nearby hospitals.

The collapsed building partially affected a nearby bungalow.

The collapsed building and the affected adjoining building had earlier been marked for structural testing by LASBCA.

Responders at the scene of the incident include NEMA, LASEMA, LRU Fire unit, LASBCA,Lagos State Fire and LASAMBUS, LNSC, FRSC and NPF.
