Director General NEMA Mustapha Habib Ahmed was represented by the Director Planning Research and Forecasting Dr Onimode Bandele in declaring opened the training. The DG had previously opened the first steam of the training on Tuesday.
In his remarks, the DG urged the participants to make the best of the opportunity to acquire more knowledge and skills for improve Disaster Management in the country.
The Deputy Head of UN-OCHA Office Ms Esty Sukoyo was also present at the opening of the workshop.
The DPRF Dr Onimode also made a presentation on Overview of Disaster Coordination (Humanitarian and Development) and National Policies and mandates of NEMA.
The training workshop is organised by NEMA in collaboration with UN-OCHA and partnership with UNICEF, IOM, Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), IFRC, Nigerian Red Cross Society and IMMAP.
