The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Kano Operations Office, participated in the reception of 125 Nigerian returnees from Agadez, Niger Republic, on Tuesday, June 25, 2025. The returnees arrived at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) aboard a Sky Mali flight at approximately 2:50 p.m. local time.
The repatriation was facilitated by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in collaboration with other key stakeholders in migrant protection and reintegration.
Demographic Profile of the Returnees:
– Adult Males: 125
Upon arrival, the returnees were taken to the Hajj Terminal, where relevant authorities conducted a profiling exercise. According to the IOM, this group was not included in the reintegration program and was discharged shortly after the profiling.
