The targeted LGAs include Alimosho, Ojo, Agege, Eti-Osa, Kosofe, Ikeja, Oshodi, and Ikorodu.

The official flag-off ceremony of the distribution exercise was held on Wednesday, 6th August 2025, at the Oniru Waterfront in Eti-Osa LGA. The event was conducted in collaboration with the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), the Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture, and the Eti-Osa Local Government Authority.

Speaking during the flag-off, Mr. Afunku Azeez, who represented the Head of NEMA Lagos Operations Office, delivered a goodwill message on behalf of the Director General of NEMA, Mrs. Zubaida Umar. He expressed the heartfelt sympathy of the Federal Government to individuals and families affected by the floods, acknowledging the severe impact of the disaster, which led to widespread displacement and loss of property valued in millions of naira.

The Director General commended the strong inter-agency collaboration between NEMA and relevant Lagos State agencies, particularly LASEMA, which has been instrumental in mitigating the impact of the floods and facilitating recovery efforts.

She further noted that the distribution of relief items was aimed at providing immediate succour to the affected populations and supporting their recovery, as part of broader efforts to strengthen disaster preparedness and resilience across the state.

Following the remarks, registered beneficiaries from affected communities were called upon to receive their relief items. The distributed materials included food items such as rice, garri, spaghetti, vegetable oil, tomato paste, and seasoning cubes.
Beneficiaries expressed deep appreciation to the Federal Government and NEMA for the timely intervention and support during this period of hardship.
