Head of Operations, NEMA, SOO, Mr. Aliyu Shehu Kafindangi who was represented by Head, Planning Unit, Mr. Tukur Abubakar commended the effort of the Sokoto State Government in approving and strengthening Local Government Emergency Management Committees in Sokoto State.
The Head, SOO made the commendation in the inauguration and training ceremony of the Committees held in the big hall of Sultan Maccido Institute, Sokoto State.
NEMA, SOO gave a lecture on Disaster Management System in Nigeria. While delivering the lecture, Mr. Aliyu admonished the committee members across the 23 Local Government Areas of the State to be diligent and proactive in the discharge of their duties.
The Executive Governor of Sokoto State who was also represented by the Deputy Governor assured of his administration’s readiness to support all stakeholders in Disaster Management inorder to contain Disasters in the State and bring succor to the people.
Other dignitaries present at the inauguration ceremony were traditional heads/rulers from different Local Government Areas of the State.
