NEMA Gombe Operations Office carried out sensitization and awareness campaign to Gombe central market, rice processing company and Oil mill company.
In her opening remarks the HOO, Ummuna Ahmed informed the audience that the campaign is geared towards
creating awareness on the best way to manage waste being generated as a result of their day today’s activities and the disasters involved in dumping waste on water ways.
Stakeholders who participated in the campaign includes:Gombe state Enviromental protection Agency(GOSEPA),Ministry of Health,State Fire service, SEMA, Ministry of Environment, Nigeria Redcross society,NEMA NYSC EMVs band group, NSCDC, Grassroot Emergency Volunteer Corps (GEVC) and Media.
Market chairmen and leaders of the visited industries expressed their appreciation to NEMA and promised to make use of the knowledge given to them.
