National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), in collaboration with the Nigerian Red Cross Society, distributed food and non-food relief materials to 2,024 flood-affected households in Idemili North and South Federal Constituency, Anambra State. The distribution, held at Ojoto village square, was part of efforts to alleviate the suffering caused by the severe 2024 floods, especially during September and October.
During the event, NEMA’s Acting South-East Zonal Coordinator, Mrs. Ngozi Echeazu (represented by Ebere Ugwu), emphasized the federal government’s commitment to supporting disaster-affected citizens. Beneficiaries were advised to use the items wisely. The event featured item inspections and displays, with assurances from local representatives of a smooth distribution process.
Hon. Harris Okonkwo, represented by Hon. Chibuike Okoye, commended the government and NEMA for the timely intervention. A beneficiary, Princess Chinelo, praised the government for addressing the needs of affected households.
