The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) commenced the distribution of relief materials to 1,016 victims of insurgency in Kwapre Community, Hong LGA of Adamawa State on Saturday
Mr. Mustapha Habib Ahmed, Director General of the Agency, emphasized the Federal Government’s commitment to intervening in the hardships faced by victims of insurgency nationwide, extending the same commitment, in Adamawa State.
Represented by Mr. Galadima Sam Boyi, Head of Relief and Rehabilitation at NEMA Yola Operations office, the Agency provided food, non food items, and building materials to alleviate the impact of the crisis.
The distribution, targeting 1,061 direct beneficiaries across 177 households in Kwapre, Zaa, and Demna communities, aims to bring relief to those displaced by insurgency in the area
Simon Yakubu, District Head of Guguba, praised the Federal Government’s support and Adamawa state government and advising beneficiaries to use materials judiciously.
While expressing gratitude, the leaders of Dabna and Zaa emphasized the need for enhanced security measures, urging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri to prioritize Kwapre’s safety and peace for sustainable development.
The flag off ceremony symbolized the resilience and unity of the Kwapre community, supported by the state government and NEMA, as they strive for a brighter future.
In her remarks, Mrs Heidi Edgar Permanent Secretary overseeing Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency (ADSEMA)who is ably represented by the Director Admin, appreciated the Federal Government and Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for their support, including logistical assistance and cash support to the victims of the boko haram insurgent.
