Head of Sokoto Operations Office, Alh Aliyu Shehu Kafindangi was represented by Head of Planning Research and Forecasting, Mr Tukur Abubakar during the handing over of the Medicaments.
The medical consumables was provided by Medical Assistance Program International, the main aim of MAP International is to provide medicines and health supplies to those in need.
The medical consumables was donated to 5 Hospitals of Zamfara State, which comprised of;
1) Federal Medical Center, Gusau
2) Yarima Bakura Specialist Hospital, Gusau
3) General Hospital Gunmi
4) General Hospital Kaura Namoda and
5) General Hospital Talata Mafara.
While handing over the items, Chief Medical Director of FMC Gusau Dr. Usman A Muhd expressed his profound gratitude over the gesture and explained that they experienced the same gesture from NEMA in 2021 when their Mortuary catched fire, immediately NEMA intervened and provided all the necessary support.
On the other hand, the Chief Medical Director of Yarima Bakura Specialist Hospital, Dr. Usman Muhd Shanawa was with the Deputy Speaker of House of Assembly, Zamfara State who was also member house committee on Health, Honorable Bawa Musa Bawa, they both thanked the effort of the Director General of NEMA, Mustapha Habib Ahmed for maintaining and ensuring cordial relationship with the national and international non governmental organizations and bowed to used the medicaments appropriately.
Other hospitals that cannot be reached due to the insecurity, converged at Gusau to receive their medical facilities, they are; General Hospital Gunmi, General Hospital Kaura Namoda and General Hospital Talata Mafara.
The Executive Secretary of Zamfara State Emergency Management Agency, ZEMA, Mustapha Ahmad Gunmi, who represented the state government appreciate the effort of NEMA for the gesture.
