
The Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mrs. Zubaida Umar, on Saturday 30th August, 2025, joined a high-level Federal Government delegation led by officials from the Office of the Vice President, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Honourable Minister of Women Affairs, Hajiya Imaan Suleiman-Ibrahim, to welcome the Vice President of Colombia, Mrs. Francia Márquez, on her official visit to Nigeria.
The delegation, on behalf of the Federal Government, received the Colombian Vice President at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
The visit underscores the deepening of diplomatic ties and South-South cooperation between Nigeria and Colombia, with a focus on women empowerment, social development, disaster management, and humanitarian response.
By her participation, Mrs. Umar reinforced NEMA’s alignment with the Federal Government’s foreign policy objectives of fostering international partnerships that promote resilience, gender inclusion, and sustainable development.
