NEMA TRAINS NYSC EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT VANGUARD (EMV) ON DISASTER MANAGEMENT

“The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in Edo State recently conducted a training program for the NYSC Emergency Management Vanguards (EMVs) on their critical role in disaster management. The training emphasized the EMVs’ primary responsibilities, which include providing initial local response and serving as a pool of trained responders. Additionally, the EMVs are expected to assist in disseminating early warning information, support local government efforts, and engage in advocacy, sensitization, and mobilization of communities on disaster-related issues.

Furthermore, NEMA invited the Nigerian Red Cross to provide training on First Aid administration to the corps members. The Red Cross experts delivered comprehensive training on cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and other essential aspects of First Aid management, equipping the EMVs with vital skills to respond effectively in emergency situations.”
