In furtherance to the implementation of mitigation and response strategies of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) for this year’s flooding, Director General of the Agency Mrs Zubaida Umar paid a working visit to the Federal Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation where she held discussion with the Honourable Minister, Professor Joseph Utsev.
The discussion centered on the present flooding situation in the country and NEMA’s coordination of stakeholders in efforts to strengthen partnership towards efficient management of the situation.
The Minister commended NEMA and assured the support of the Ministry to collaborate with the Agency and other stakeholders in the provision of timely support as may be required.
Present at the meeting was the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Richard Pheelangwah and Technical Assistant to the Director General NEMA Hajiya Rakiya Bello Umar.
