Director General National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Mustapha Habib Ahmed was represented by the Director Planning Research and Forecasting Dr Onimode Bandele Abdullahi in making the lead presention at the 5th National Academy of Science annual Scientific Conference in Lagos.
The DG’s presentation was on “Emerging Technologies in Emergency Preparedness and Response” and the theme of the Scientific Conference being “Transdisciplinary Research as Catalyst for Nigeria’s Sustainable Development.” Participants at the conference were members of the Academy comprising of Scientists, Researchers including professors from different universities, polytechnics and institutions across the country.
The DG’s presentation opened the session on Wednesday and set the tone for the robust discussion that followed as many participants were delighted that NEMA has integrated modern technologies into its operations. However, for some questions that were raised and misunderstanding about the mandates of the Agency, the DPRF provided the much desired answers and clarifications.
Chairman of the session Professor Olatunde Farombi appreciated the DG NEMA through his representative for the lead presentation.
