NEMA DISTRIBUTES RELIEF MATERIALS TO 2024 FLOOD VICTIMS IN AKAMKPA/BIASE LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREAS IN CROSS RIVER STATE

In response to the devastating floods that recently affected Akamkpa/Biase Federal Constituency, the NEMA Uyo Operations office distributed essential relief materials to the affected victims.

The distribution, approved by the Director General of NEMA, Mrs. Zubaida Umar provided food items to support the victims of the flood disaster. The Head of Operations, NEMA Uyo Mrs. Aisueni Mmandu, who represented the DG in her remarks, expressed the DG sympathy to persons affected by the flood disaster.

She admonished them to heed to NIMET’s predictions on flood as well as adopt better personal hygiene and environmental sanitation practices to help minimize/eliminate the risk of flood incidents within the communities.

She also appreciated the affected persons for the cooperation and understanding exhibited, highlighting the importance of ensuring that all affected persons receive the necessary aid.

The relief distribution was officially flagged off by Rt. Hon. Emil Inyang, (Member, Representing Akamkpa/ Biase Federal Constituency) who was ably represented Mr. Gabriel Ovali. He expressed gratitude for the federal government’s support and acknowledged the contributions of NEMA by their swift response to the relief efforts. Christiana Ukam thanked the federal government and NEMA on behalf of the beneficiaries.

The distribution exercise was observed by the representatives of Rt. Hon. Emil Inyang, NEMA, CRSEMA officials, Chiefs of the communities, Community leaders, Military personnel, and the media.
