Borno State

The flood situation in Borno State has had a significant impact, affecting 414,176 people, with 389,267
displaced and 7,155 houses damaged across nine local government areas (LGAs).

Heavy downpours in August and September
caused excessive inflow into the Alau Dam in
Konduga LGA, surpassing its capacity. This
resulted in the collapse of a section of the dam
and subsequent widespread flooding in the
Maiduguri Metropolitan Council and Jere LGA.
