
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Ibadan Operations Office, has distributed relief materials to households affected by the recent rainstorm disaster in Ayedire, Iwo and Olaoluwa Federal Constituency of Osun State.
The intervention, carried out on 24th July 2026, followed the approval of relief assistance for affected communities and was aimed at alleviating hardship and supporting the immediate recovery of victims.
The distribution exercise was conducted transparently in the presence of key stakeholders, including the Member representing Ayedire, Iwo and Olaoluwa Federal Constituency, Hon. Mudashiru Lukman Alani. Beneficiaries were verified using approved assessment records to ensure that the relief items reached the intended recipients.
Presenting the items on behalf of the Director General of NEMA, Mrs. Zubaida Umar, the Head of Operations, Mr. Yinusa Deji G., sympathised with the affected households and urged them to make judicious use of the relief materials. He also encouraged residents to embrace disaster risk reduction measures and reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to supporting vulnerable communities affected by disasters.
In his remarks, Hon. Mudashiru Lukman Alani commended NEMA and its Director General for the timely intervention, noting that the support would provide much-needed relief to the affected households.
The relief materials comprised food items and other essential household and non-food items. Beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the Federal Government and NEMA for the humanitarian assistance.
